It is with total submission to the will of God that our pioneer ICT Director Dr. Richard Afolabi left us to be with his creator. Richard you devoted your valuable time and expertise to develop the website in 2014. You wanted it to be ready and up ASAP. You pushed me beyond my limits and when I failed to send you content, you wrote it yourself and it was fantastic. We had the site (www.iceesr.org.ng) running and it gave the project international visibility.
For the past 5 years the website has been running, you maintained it and sorted any issue with the speed of light. Yes, I said speed of light - you were a man of speed. Projects must be delivered on time with you. Just four weeks ago precisely you convinced me on the need to redo the site, we agreed on the new site architecture and I was to provide content within three weeks. That was the deadline you gave me, but I failed because of other work schedules, now you are gone! I am really lost, confused and blank here, Richard to say you have left a big vacuum in the ICT team of ICEESR is an understatement. Your professionalism, diligence and innovation would surely be missed. I assure you that your contributions to the ICEESR UNIUYO project shall never be in vain. We would surely continue the dream and the vision, as I remember you, you will inspire me the more.
On behalf of the other team members, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Chinwe, the girls and your mum. Rest in peace brother till we meet to part no more.
